It's not a merger when one company is bought by another one. Merger is when two company decide and agree to merge into one. It doesn't matter whether HP & Compaq's merger end up good or bad, it's irrelevant. If Microsoft buy a company that my friend own, is that a merger? As far as HP and Compaq, how's that working out these days?
