RedHat + JBoss = An Excellent Match!
It seemed that this acquisition came out of the blue, but I for one am very happy about it. Folks at my former employer are also quite happy about this news. Considering that they have a contract with both RedHat and JBoss, this should make life a little easier. I shudder to think about what life may have been like with a company like Oracle in charge. It will be interesting to see how this story unfolds.
P.S.
Max, is this good enough? ![]()

It’s not a merger. JBoss is a fat and loud insect acquired by RedHat.
HP and Compaq, that’s a merger.

I don’t know where said “merger”, but you’re entitled to your opinion
JBoss makes a bunch of excellent products and I have some confort in the fact the RedHat shares a similar vision. As far as HP and Compaq, how’s that working out these days? Remember that awesome thing they came out with last year?

I’m referring to your blog post “It seemed that this merger came out of the blue, but I for one am very happy about it.”
It’s not a merger when one company is bought by another one.
Merger is when two company decide and agree to merge into one.
It doesn’t matter whether HP & Compaq’s merger end up good or bad, it’s irrelevant.
If Microsoft buy a company that my friend own, is that a merger? No, that means Microsoft acquired my friend’s company.

Sux when you wrote the post, read it twice, reply to someones post to say you didn’t write merger, and still don’t see the word “merger”
I stand corrected, and so is the post. Thanks for the insight. LOL!
